The New York Times today has a quick run down of the biggest applause lines Rick Perry receives out on the campaign trail in Iowa. The Times reports that the crowd at one of Perry’s speeches “perked up” when the Texas governor talked energy and oil. “Every barrel of oil that comes out of those sands in Canada is a barrel of oil that we don’t have to buy from a foreign source,” Perry said, adding that buying so much energy from foreign countries is “not good policy, it’s not good politics and frankly it‘s un-American.”With such ridiculous statements one cannot help but wonder How could Rick Perry have gotten elected for anything other than dog catcher? I never in a million years would have thought anyone from Texas could be stupider than Dubya, but Ricky boy is sure giving him a run for his money.

The painful images and graphic stories of repeated violent assaults and vandalism by mobs of black teenagers had gotten to be too much for Mayor Michael Nutter.

As an elected official and a "proud black man" in the nation's fifth-largest city, Nutter felt he had to go a step beyond ordering a law enforcement crackdown.

So he channeled the spirit of another straight-talking Philadelphian: Bill Cosby. Nutter took to the pulpit at his church last weekend and gave an impassioned, old-fashioned talking-to directed at the swarms of teens who have been using social networks to arrange violent sprees downtown, injuring victims and damaging property. Moreover, he called out parents for not doing a better job raising their children.

"You've damaged yourself, you've damaged another person, you've damaged your peers and, quite honestly, you've damaged your own race," Nutter said at Mount Carmel Baptist Church.He called out absentee fathers and neglectful parents. He did not mince words, saying they need to be more than just a "sperm donor" or a "human ATM."

"That's part of the problem in our community," Nutter told the congregation. "Let me speak plainer: That's part of the problem in the black community. ... We have too many men making too many babies they don't want to take care of and then we end up dealing with your children."

At a National Association for the Advancement of Colored People gathering in 2004, It can be recalled Bill Cosby chided the black community in a speech commemorating the 50th anniversary of Brown v. Board of Education, the legal case that toppled segregated education.

"These people marched and were hit in the face with rocks to get an education and now we've got these knuckleheads walking around," Cosby said then.

"I can't even talk the way these people talk, 'Why you ain't,' 'Where you is' ... and I blamed the kid until I heard the mother talk," the entertainer said.

Unfortunately while a lot of people in the black community believe this is a problem that needs to be address, Others say he's airing private community matters now that crime is sprouting downtown, near businesses and popular tourist attractions in a sprawling city with many other sections already plagued by persistent gun violence.

Annette John-Hall, a black columnist for The Philadelphia Inquirer, wrote this week that the mayor crossed a line when he said, "You've damaged your own race."

"We can deal with the public tongue-lashing, even if his intended targets were nowhere to be found among the law-abiding churchgoers in their Sunday best," John-Hall wrote. She went on to say, "But what really bothered me was when Nutter fired the age-old salvo that has historically evoked head-hanging shame among black folks."

That is just the Problem from my point of view too, it seems every time you call on black folks to correct the many problems we have in the black community, they get angry, call you an Uncle Tom, or worse. We need to grow up and take care of our responsibilities and not always blame the White man or anybody else for our problems.

The sad fact is many in the 'inner community' will chide him as being an 'uncle tom' for demanding that people account themselves for their actions.

Bill Cosby made similar statements and was raked across the coals for it.

In one attack last month, a man ended up in the hospital with broken teeth and a wired jaw after a group of teenagers attacked him downtown. Hours later, a crowd of young people assaulted four other men. The city plans to increase legal sanctions for parents whose children participate in the attacks. Nutter has also said strict enforcement of a curfew will continue and more programs at youth centers will be offered.

For his part, the mayor said he felt he had no choice but to go to the pulpit Sunday, regardless of the reaction.

"This is about personal responsibility," he told the AP. "We have to be very straightforward."

Philadelphia's first black district attorney, Seth Williams, also lauded the mayor for using his position as one of the city's most visible leaders to confront a public problem.

"What he was saying was perfectly accurate. People need to hear that," Williams said. "Call it for what it is."

A U.S. judge in Arizona has put key parts of the border state's tough new immigration law on hold before it was due to come into effect on Thursday.

The U.S. Justice Department had argued provisions of the law encroached on federal authority over immigration policy and enforcement.

Arizona's Republican Governor Jan Brewer said the state plans to file an expedited appeal with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit seeking to lift the injunction against the immigration law.

The appeals court, based in San Francisco, could consider whether to lift the injunction and let the full law go into effect or request legal briefs and arguments from both sides before ruling on Arizona's request.

Opponents have called it an open invitation for harassment and discrimination against Hispanics and minorities regardless of their citizenship status.

To see such hate in Arizona was truly shocking, but i am not surprise, this is exactly what happens when right wing lunatics and racists run Government. I watched the news with complete disgust yesterday when this one moron State Senator from Oklahoma, try to defend his position on the militia that he and the tea party folks are proposing to oppose the Federal government.

I came to this Country from war torn Liberia, as a refugee,bruise and traumatize, but i would embraced my new home forever grateful for the opportunity given me to live the American Dream........

It never ceases to amaze me how Republicans will make a mountain out of a mole hill, When President Obama on a state visit to japan last week politely bowed to the Emperor of Japan, conservatives went nuts accusing the president of grovelling to a foreign leader, and making the country look weak.
The LA times' blog asked "How low will he go" in their complaint of the President's actions. ABC News' Jack Tapper ask if Obama's bow was correct. The conservative blog Hotair said the President looked like "an idiot". And Michelle Malkin simply insulted Obama , calling the President a "waterboy." Bill Bennett, on CNN commented "It is ugly. I do not wish to see it".
and finally former vice-president Dick Cheney told the Politico.comwebsite, "There is no reason for an American president to bow to anyone. Our friends and allies don't expect it, and our enemies see it as a sign of weakness." It is precisely because of crazy views like these that got us in all the trouble in the world today.
The way i see it, its these right wing hypocrites who are the fools, Bowing to the head of a country in which bowing is a respectful greeting when meeting any new person is a sign of respect.

Today we are learning form CNN and other news outlet that the Obama administration is weary about sending more troops to Afghanistan to help defeat the Taliban. There are even talk that vice president Joe Biden is advising President Obama to withdraw U.S forces from the Taliban infested country.
If this is true, it will be a huge mistake that i believe this country will pay for for generations to come.

Whatever the cost, we must prevail in Afghanistan, These Islamic lunatics were the ones who Killed our people and Bombed our cities on 9/11, if we withdraw from Afghanistan, without bringing Osama bin Laden and his Taliban friends to justice, what kind of message will we be sending to our enemies and other people who are planning to do us harm. Are we a bunch of cowards who will cut and run anytime we face a little obstacles in our wars oversea?

Today we learned with shock and sadness the passing away of Senator Ted Kennedy of Massachusetts a true champion of the poor and working class. many of us knew that this was coming but we did not want to believe it, we wanted to believe that the liberal Lion of the United States Senate would once again come out victorious just as he did with all the other battles he fought through out his remarkable life.

Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., was the latest political punching bag to face the wrath of the health care overhauls angry dissenters last night in Dartmouth. Unlike many other spineless lawmakers who have bent over backward and retreated at similar events with their tails between their legs in recent days, an unapologetic Frank went toe to toe with some of the crazies, and it was truly fun to watch.
Frank was holding a town hall meeting last night on the proposed health care reforms. As usual the Republican lunatics started doing their Obama-Is-Hitler-and-Health-Care-Reform-is-Nazism bullshit routine..... and boy they did not know what they had coming.

After a long hard battle, that lasted almost eight months, Democrat Al Franken defeated Republican Norm Coleman in Minnesota’s U.S. Senate race.
The Supreme Court of Minnesota has spoken, and I respect its decision and will abide by the result,” Coleman said. “It’s time for Minnesota to come together under the leaders it has chosen and move forward. I join all Minnesotans in congratulating our newest United States senator: Al Franken.”

Franken, in remarks outside his Minneapolis home about an hour after Coleman’s concession, said he expected to be seated early next week. Franken has already been told that he’s been named to two key committees — Health, Education and Labor and Pensions and Judiciary.

It was with total shock on Thursday when i learned of Michael Jackson death. all of a sudden all the major TV network broke from their regular programs to break the news.
I was and still is a huge Jackson fan, i remember those days back in the late 80s when my brother and i would fight over Jackson stickers, we both adore the man, we wanted to be like him, and now he is gone forever.

If ever there was a time for U.S authorities to finally think about closing the southern border with Mexico now would be that time.
Execution style murders, violent home invasions, and a spiraling kidnap rate in Phoenix -- where police reported an average of one abduction a day last year linked to Mexican crime are becoming an everyday affair for residents who live in States that share common border with Mexico.
In southern California, police have investigated cases of Americans abducted by armed groups tied to the Tijuana drug trade. One involved a businesswoman and her teenage daughter snatched in San Diego last year and held to ransom south of the border.

In south Texas, a live hand grenade traced back to a Mexican cartel stash was tossed onto the pool table of a bar frequented by off-duty police officers in January. The pin was left in it and the assailant fled.

This is not a Democrat or a Republican issue, this is about homeland security and keeping our citizens safe.
As a sign of how out of control things have become,The State Department is renewing a travel advisory warning Americans about violence in Mexico, especially along the U.S. border, the U.S.

Yesterday i watched with utter disgust people booing President Bush as he was leaving Washington for Texas during Obama's Inauguration. I mean really even if you did not like the man or his policies, we should respect the fact that he was one of our Presidents and we should send him home with all the respect a President deserves.
Now that George W. Bush has left the White House, and his administration has officially ended, What his legacy will be in the United States and the world at large as he leaves office, is still been debated by so called political pundits .
It is true, he made some colossal mistakes at home and abroad on the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq . It is also true his relations with America's allies, especially in Europe, have been abysmal. But outside of the Middle East and Europe, Bush has been successful, especially in Asia and Africa.

For years, America has given lip service to African disease and poverty. But Bush reversed course, and today millions of Africans receive free medicine for AIDs, TB and Malaria. Half of all African food aid comes from the US. The Millenium Challenge, a very effective program in which rich countries ban together to foster economic development in poor countries, was created by Bush.
When President Clinton had a chance to save thousands of people in Rwanda civil crisis during the 90s, he refused to get involve, calling it an African Problem, and because of America and the world's inaction almost a million people die in the Rwanda Genocide.
Bush on the other hand got involved in Africa like no other president before him, he demanded that Liberian Tyrant Charles Taylor leaves office and send U.S soldiers to help stabilized the country, in the process ending almost 2 decades of civil war that left the country in a state of total ruin.
He called Sudan's military actions in Darfur, Genocide when most African and European countries refused to call it so.
Most Americans especially on the far left have been hard in my opinion of the President, some insulting and calling him the worst president ever, but they fail to understand that the President was commander in chief in extraordinary times and he made decisions under extraordinary circumstances, to keep the homeland safe. for that alone i am thankful for his presidency.
being a Stanch Democrat as i am,i really hated the policies of his administration, but as time went by, i started to understand that in order to fight terrorism and keep the Homeland safe, we had to fight those wars, i started to look at and admire the President in a whole new light.
Whatever his critics in the Liberal media say, President Bush, unlike any other U.S. Presidents, change dramatically the way the United States dealt with radicals who were bent on killing Americans, and the way the U.S did business in poor countries around the world.
The media might be hard on his legacy now, but in time history will be more gentle on his presidency, and we as Americans will look back and see how we not only disrespected a good and caring man who loves his country, but also how unfairly we treated him to the end.

Today all over the Muslim world people are marching and protesting Israel's military action against Hamas. but my question is how come they didn't say anything when radical Hamas broke the six months truce with Israel and starting firing rockets deeper than ever into Israel.

Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert practically beg on Arab TV for Hamas to stop their attacks on Israel, but they would not listen.
I am sorry if any innocent people die in this latest round of fighting, but Gaza is run by a terrorist organisation who are bent on one thing and one thing only killing innocent people.

It is time to teach Hamas a lessson, they have to know that firing rockets and killing innocent people will not be tolerated.

President Bush today ducked a pair of shoes hurled at his head — one shoe after the other — in the middle of a news conference with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.
The shoe attack came as Bush and al-Maliki were about to shake hands. The assailant — later identified as television correspondent Muntadar al-Zeidi — leapt from his chair and hurled his footwear at the president, who was about 20 feet away.

Just a month after they took both the White House and Congress, Democrats so greedy for power are about to show their true colors.
Today in a blatant disregard for the law the democratic governor of Illinois Rod Blagojevich was arrested on corruption charges.
Blagojevich was accused of threatening to withhold state assistance to the Tribune Company because their editors were critical of him, and trying to sell the U.S. Senate seat vacated by fellow Democrat President-elect Barack Obama.
"The breadth of corruption laid out in these charges is staggering," U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald, the federal prosecutor, said in a statement.

The 51-year-old Blagojevich and his chief of staff, John Harris, were charged in a federal complaint with conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud and solicitation of bribery. Both were taken into custody at their homes in Chicago.
This is exactly the reason why one political party should not have total control, because then they start to feel they are above the law. I am sure there will be a lot more of these kinds of stories in the future, so we better all get ready for the long roller coaster ride.

Democrats' hopes of winning a 60 seat filibuster-proof majority in the Senate came to an end tonight with the re-election of Georgia Republican Sen. Saxby Chambliss.
With 70 percent of the precincts reporting, Chambliss captured 60 percent to Martin's 40 percent. Chambliss' win is a rare bright spot for Republicans in a year where they lost the White House as well as seats in the House and the Senate. i could not have been happier. if the democrats had won this critical seat, it would have been like giving these Democrats a blank check to carry out their crazy left wing ideology. i keep telling people, i am still a democrat but a Clinton democrat who believe that the best way to run this country is from the center, and not the far left or far right.
There needs to be a check and balance in the senate, and Chambliss victory tonight will help ensure just that.

Turnout was light throughout the state Tuesday. A spokesman for Secretary of State Karen Handel predicted between 18 and 20 percent of the state's 5.75 million registered voters would cast ballots — far less than the 65 percent who voted in last month's general election.

If there was ever any reason for President elect Obama and the Democrats to not continue the tough policies of the Bush administration on the war on terrorism, today that reason was taken off the table.
Ayman al-Zawahri Al-Qaida's No. 2 leader used a racial epithet to insult Barack Obama in a message posted Wednesday, describing the president-elect in demeaning terms that imply he does the bidding of whites. Al-Zawahri also called the president-elect — along with secretaries of state Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice — "house Negroes."
The 11-minute 23-second video features the audio message by al-Zawahri, who appears only in a still image, along with other images, including one of Obama wearing a Jewish skullcap as he meets with Jewish leaders.
Al-Zawahri said Obama's election has not changed American policies he said are aimed at oppressing Muslims and others.

"America has put on a new face, but its heart full of hate, mind drowning in greed, and spirit which spreads evil, murder, repression and despotism continue to be the same as always," the deputy of al-Qaida chief Osama bin Laden said.

He said Obama's plan to shift troops to Afghanistan is doomed to failure, because Afghans will resist.

"Be aware that the dogs of Afghanistan have found the flesh of your soldiers to be delicious, so send thousands after thousands to them," he said.

I hope President elect Obama and the incoming government take this threat serious and finally do something about this menace, instead of only giving speeches about how they want to sit and talk to terrorist and people who supports them.

Joe Lieberman faces the possible loss of his chairmanship of the Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee for backing John McCain.

Just days after their victory in which the Democrats took control of both the White house and the Congress, they are ready for revenge and retribution against anybody who did not subscribe to their way of thinking.
The first in many casualties it seems will be Connecticut Senator Joe Lieberman.
Lieberman met privately with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, who afterward reiterated Democratic concerns. Reid, in a sternly worded statement after the 45-minute meeting, said no official decisions have been made. But an aide to the Nevada Democrat said Reid was leaning toward removing Lieberman as chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.

Lieberman backed McCain over Obama for president largely because McCain, unlike Obama, supported the Iraq war. He appeared regularly with McCain on the campaign trail and spoke at the Republican Party's national convention.
In endorsing McCain, Lieberman became the first nominee of a major party presidential ticket to later support a candidate of the opposing party. He was Al Gore's No. 2 in the 2000 White House race.
Despite splitting with most Democrats on the war in Iraq, Lieberman tends to vote with them on domestic issues such as health care, education and the environment.
In my opinion these greedy and power hungry democrats are all hypocrites, Let's unite they say for the good of the country, but, NO, let's punish those who differ from the Democrat agenda.
Joe Lieberman is an honest, decent politician who votes with his conscious not just his party. In choosing Obama as the 44th president, the nation took a historic leap beyond its legacy of slavery and toward healing racial tensions just four decades after the tumultuous Civil Rights movement.
But the hard part is still ahead of us, As the 44th president, Obama will move into the Oval Office as leader of a country that is almost certainly in recession, and fighting two long wars, one in Iraq, the other in Afghanistan.
Obama has said his first order of presidential business will be to tackle the economy. He has also pledged to withdraw most U.S. combat troops from Iraq within 16 months.
withdrawing the troops from Iraq and bringing them home in defeat when victory is just in sight is the main reason i voted against him. time and time again i have said that i was not in favor of the war in Iraq, but now that we are there we have to win the war and bring our young men and women who have pay so much in service to their country home victorious.

It infuriate me when people of my own race call me an uncle Tom or a misguided negro all because i support Senator John McCain for President, and not Senator Obama because he is black like me.
I have nothing against Senator Obama except that i do not think he is the right person to be President at this critical time in our nation history, when we are fighting two wars and Americans are seeing their savings go down the toilet. I have always been sympathetic to the Democratic party and their causes, and why its true i still believe in the ideals of the Democratic party, it is also true and i do believe strongly that the party have been taken over by the far left wing extremist of the party.
And though i hate to say it, i think Senator Obama has got this thing all wrap up, and he is going to win the Presidency.

Generations of Americans before me all came from other countries, some were poor and some very well off, but all found hopes and dreams in America the land of the free, all dare to dream and found that their dreams could come true, so it is with this sense of hope and pride that i humbly declare too that i am indeed proud to be an American....

I am not an expert in matters relating to finance and investing in the stock market, but i really don't understand why U.S tax payers have to bailout wall street and these huge banks who have brought this present crisis upon themselves.

Wall street and these banks have been greedy, and practically stealing from the American people with their sub prime loans and other bad investments. I feel no pity for them or their big fat executives who get richer and fatter of the American people. I see no reason whatsoever to leave my daughter bankrupt and billions of dollars in debt. let these people swallow their own pills.

The Gallup daily tracking poll is reporting that John McCain has overtaken Barack Obama in a recent poll just taken.McCain leads Obama 48 percent to 45 percent among registered voters, by Gallup’s measure. McCain has so far earned the same convention bounce as Obama, though at a more rapid pace.

Rasmussen’s daily tracking poll also reported today that when "leaners” are included, Obama and McCain are now tied at 48 percent. That means that, by Rasmussen’s measure, Obama’s 6-point bounce has been erased. CBS News polling had shown the same outcome midway through the GOP convention.

McCain’s rise in the polls comes as Nielsen Media Research reported that the Republican convention earned more television viewers than the Democratic convention. Republicans earned an average audience of 34.5 million, while Democrats earned an average viewership of 30.2 million.

This can not be good news for the Democrats,maybe its time for the Dems to make that 3 am phone call to Senator Clinton, because God knows they need all their heavy guns on the front lines.

Chanting "war is not pro-life" and holding signs criticizing President George W. Bush, Thousands of, sign-waving protesters filled the streets of St. Paul on Monday, as Republicans prepared for a low-key opening to their presidential nominating convention.
Earlier Monday, a group of self-described anarchists threw park benches into streets and smashed windows. police said that 13 people had been arrested so far, ad they are accused of damage to property and conspiracy to riot. Those arrested will be formally charged in Ramsey County District Court on Tuesday.

Besides damaging private property, the group also smashed in the windows of five squad cars.
The arrest of the "anarchists" came after nearly 5,000 protesters marched peacefully outside the site of the convention site.

Authorities have searched several homes in Minneapolis and one in St. Paul Saturday ahead of the opening of the Republican National Convention.
St. Paul, Minn. — Police said the raids were the result of a long-term investigation into a group of more than 30 anarchists that call themselves the RNC Welcoming Committee.
Police said some members of the group are interested in committing serious, criminal acts.

Authorities said the anarchists use weapons to try and hurt police. During raids this weekend they have confiscated makeshift maps and weapons, including machetes, hatchets, knives, metal pipes and homemade devices believed to be used to disable buses. They also found buckets of urine that police believe anarchists were going to throw at them.
St. Paul police, said city officers helped the county carry out a search warrant as part of an ongoing criminal investigation.
"We've known all along that there are people coming to our city who are not planning to conduct themselves in a lawful manner," Walsh said. "This is an affirmation of that."

The fact of the matter is the policy makers in Washington should have used better judgement before sending the troops to the middle east. but the men and women of the armed forces are there now, and the country have already sacrificed billions in material and human lives.

I grew up in the 80s and back then everything was so simple, now every where you turn it just seem the whole world is going mad, if its not the talk of war somewhere in the world, there is flood,sickness or some other depressing thing.
today i found this video of country legend Charlie Pride and it reminded me so much of some of those good times. My Mom had an LP of this song called Kiss an Angel good morning, and it just brought back tons of memories from back when i was a kid growing up in Liberia, West Africa.

Barack Obama's campaign blasted Monday's satirical cartoon on the cover of The New Yorker magazine showing the Democratic presidential hopeful wearing Islamic dress while his wife holds a Kalashnikov. The cartoon drawn by Barry Blitt shows the couple standing in the White House's Oval Office with an American flag burning in the fireplace under a portrait of Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden. While i am no big fan of the Senator, I just thought The new yorker was way over the line here, if it was meant to be funny, well it was not, maybe it was meant to scare Americans from voting for a Black person, The Senator lack of experience is enough to not get him elected, the New Yorker did not have to bring this garbage into the fray, the cartoon was frankly disgusting and tasteless, and should have no place what so ever in American politics.

Much outrage has been vented over President George W. Bush's May 15 address to the Knesset, where he likened negotiating with Iran or Hamas to appeasing Nazi Germany.Bush's comment in a speech to Israel's parliament was widely interpreted as a swipe at Democratic presidential front-runner Barack Obama, who has advocated talks without preconditions with leaders of such hostile nations as Iran and Cuba.
What really is the hoopla all about? is it not fair game to question the foreign policy credentials of Sen Obama? Why the hell should the United States negotiate with people who are only bent on killing innocent people?

Iran's President Ahmadinejad has come in for international criticism for saying that Israel should be "wiped off the map" and questioning whether the Nazi Holocaust that killed 6 million Jews actually took place. Iran also backs Hamas, whose charter calls for Israel's destruction. So my question to these weak on national security democrats is what is there to talk about? After a disappointing finish in last night democratic primaries in North Carolina and Indiana, and with Her money drained and her options dwindling, a resolute Hillary Rodham Clinton like the fighter she always is vowed Wednesday to press on with her presidential bid even as she and top advisers were hard-pressed to describe a realistic path for her to wrest the nomination from Barack Obama.
When all is said and done, we who admire the former first lady, know that she defy all odds fighting for the nomination of the democratic party, but in the end it was just not to be.

with the media against her, and with these weak far left wing liberal democrat blaming her for every thing including her vote on the Iraq war, to even being call a racist, she was bound to fail.
Hillary has noting to prove, however you put it she was and is still the best and the most experience candidate who would have made a great president, but because these weak far left democrats are all backstabbers and would rather put an inexperience senator from Illinois who has no idea how to handle U.S foreign policy in a trouble world, instead of her. i hope they get what they deserve. i hope they lose to John McCain and the Republicans in November.

I first saw my first bollywood movie when i was 10 years old at the Indian Revoli Cenema in Liberia, and since then i have always been a fan of Hindi movies, but over the weekend i had the pleasure of watching one of the best indian movies of all time, the movie is call Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Gham, and after 3 hours sitting glue to the screen, all i could say was wow, this is going to be my first movie review.
The movie main characters are some of the best known actors in India, stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, and Kareena Kapoor have made this movie a classic.
The movie is charming and heart-warming and above all very family friendly, and was an immense success both in India and Europe.

Rahul is the most adored adopted son of one of the wealthiest families in India. He is doted upon like a biological son would be, the father is extremely proud of him but it is the mother that he has a special connection with. She can feel whenever he arrives at the family grounds, she loves him beyond anything. Rahul is expected to do great things, to follow all the family traditions, to carry on with the family name in business and life and to marry his childhood friend, a woman that his family has chosen to be his wife. He is very happy to do all of this, in part in gratitude for everything that they have done for him but also because he respects and loves his family above all things.
All is well until Rahul meets Anjali. Sweet, a sweetshop owner's daughter who is from the wrong side of the tracks, a very happy yet very poor girl who lives with her father and her younger sister. Anjali is great, with a wonderful sense of humor and who loves her family above all things as well. They fall in love and Rahul wants to marry her.
But the father tells him he cannot possibly marry a woman who knows nothing of their traditions, and of their power and above all how can he ever think about marrying a girl that was beneath them, - she is just not suitable. and that is when the the real story starts.....
If you have to watch but one Bollywood movie it should be this one. it is about 3 hours long, with lot of dancing and singing, but if you are up to the challenge and can get pass this, i swear you will have the time of your life. you will love it as much as I did.

Today was truly a beautiful day in the Twin cities, as most of you know our State Minnesota is notorious when it comes to winter, and you could feel the whole city breath a sign of relief today when we hit 60 degrees, some people were out on the many lakes around the city, others just simply took their pets for strolls, but i decided to do something much better, i decide i wanted to be among the first people to grill on the first really nice day all year, and that is what i did.

Hopefully this is the beginning of a great summer.

Carville called it an "act of betrayal," and pointed out that it came during Holy Week.

Carville told CNN on Monday that Richardson had committed an "egregious act" and he intended to make a sharp response to it.

"I wanted to use a very strong metaphor to make my point," Carville said. "I doubt if Governor Richardson and I will be particularly close in the future."

Just when you thought nothing go ever go wrong with the Democratic party, and the party was at the brink of retaking the white house come November, then come a shocker, Eliot Spitzer! the governor of New York, and one of the most promising politicians in the country, resigned, sunk by his stunning patronage of a high-end prostitution ring."I cannot allow my private failings to disrupt the people's work," Spitzer told the press today.
The scandal erupted Monday after federal law enforcement officials disclosed that a wiretap had caught the 48-year-old father of three teenage daughters spending thousands of dollars on a call girl at a fancy Washington hotel on the night before Valentine's Day.

His dizzying downfall was met with glee and the popping of champagne corks among many on Wall Street, where Spitzer was seen as a sanctimonious bully for attacking big salaries and abusive practices in the financial industry when he was New York attorney general. And his resignation brought relief at the state Capitol in Albany after days of excruciating tension and uncertainty.
This scandal in my opinion will have some serious ramification for the democratic party, not only am i sad because he's gone, but his departure also means Senator Clinton will lose a super delegate.
Spitzer will be succeeded on Monday by Lt. Gov. David Paterson, a fellow Democrat who becomes New York's first black governor and the nation's first legally blind chief executive.

Emanuel Cleaver II (D-Mo.), a superdelegate who has supported Clinton since August. Cleaver said black superdelegates are receiving “nasty letters, phone calls, threats they’ll get an opponent, being called an Uncle Tom.“This is the politics of the 1950s,” he complained. “A lot of members are experiencing a lot of ugly stuff. They’re not going to talk about it, but it’s happening.” and this is happening all over the country.

For some Clinton supporters, the heat has been too much to bear. Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.), and Georgia Rep. David Scott switched their support from Clinton to Obama earlier this week, other black superdelegates have come under renewed pressure to do a similar about-face.

but many say they are steadfast in their support for Clinton and resent strong-arm tactics to make them change.

Rep. Diane E. Watson (D-Calif.), a black lawmaker and Clinton backer, said the intense lobbying for Obama would not alter her vote.
“I’ve gotten threatening mail,” Watson said. “They say, ‘Your district went 61-29 Obama and you need to change.’ But I don’t intimidate. I can hold the ground. … I would lose my seat over my principles.”

Is this really the politics of Hope that the Obama Camp have been preaching all along? that its ok to harassed and call other black peoples names simply because thay support Sen Clinton? whats more amazing is the fact that Obama has failed to even speak out against these kinds of outrageous and probably criminal threats of violence! is this not another form of reversed racism? in some black neighborhoods people are AFRAID to put up visible signs showing that they are supporters of Senator Clinton because they feel or have been literally threatened!

After all the Clintons did for black people and minorities in the 90s, to now treat them as they were our enemies, is truly astonishing, this kind of disloyalty is truly beyond words.

Civil rights leader John Lewis,and one of the most prominent black leader the Clinton campaign had, today dropped his support for Hillary Clinton's presidential bid in favor of Barack Obama. In a written statement, Lewis said Obama's campaign "represents the beginning of a new movement in American political history" and that he wants "to be on the side of the people."
"After taking some time for serious reflection on this issue, I have decided that when I cast my vote as a superdelegate at the Democratic convention, it is my duty ... to express the will of the people," the statement said.

This is exactly one of the reasons in my opinion why the democrats will loose come november 2008, they are disloyal, and fake. they will support you as long as you are perceive to be the winner, and will drop you like garbage in a heartbeat if they think you are going to loose. everyone wants to be on the winning side right? the more and more these far left wing democrats take control of the party, the more i am convinced, that they don't have the best interest of the party at heart. they are all there for the gravy, and when its gone they move on to someone else who has more gravy.
I for one can never forgive these far left wingers for smearing Bill Clinton's name and calling him a racist, when he fought his whole life for the rights of blacks and minorities in America. if anything Obama and his people were the ones who played the race cards. and many of us know it was a calculated attempt on their part to win the black votes as this video shows..

Barack Obama dressed in traditional local Somali garments during a visit to Kenya in 2006 has enraged the Sanator and his campaign. Obama campaign manager David Plouffe accused Clinton's campaign of "the most shameful, offensive fear-mongering we've seen from either party in this election." Clinton campaign manager Maggie Williams countered by saying the Obama campaign's reaction was inflaming passions and distracting voters.

"Enough," Williams said in a statement. "If Barack Obama's campaign wants to suggest that a photo of him wearing traditional Somali clothing is divisive, they should be ashamed. Hillary Clinton has worn the traditional clothing of countries she has visited and had those photos published widely.

A distasteful comment about Chelsea Clinton by an MSNBC anchor, David Shuster could imperil Sen. Hillary Clinton's participation in future presidential debates on the network, a Clinton spokesman said.
Clinton communications director Howard Wolfson on Friday said David Shuster distasteful comment about Chelsea Clinton was beneath contempt" and disgusting.
"I, at this point, can't envision a scenario where we would continue to engage in debates on that network," he added.
Wolfson pointed to what he called a pattern of tasteless comments by MSNBC anchors about the Clinton campaign. Weeks ago, "Hardball" host Chris Matthews apologized to the former first lady after suggesting her political career had been made possible by her husband's philandering.
Over and over again we have seen the media especially Msnbc going after senator Clinton, sometimes harshly just so that she can make mistakes, and her opponent can have an edge over her, we saw that in the msnbc debates, we have seen that many times on the Chris Matthews's hardball show, and now this David shuster's distasteful comment, about chelsea being pimped by the Clinton camp to beg celebraties, and senators to support her mother's presidential bid. Today the network was all over the air apologizing to the Clintons for their stupid comments.

In a blatent display of childishness at the state of the union speech, Senator Barack Obama refused to make himself available to greet Sen. Clinton. here is how the sequence of event unfolded, When members of the Senate entered the chamber, Obama came in before Clinton. He went out of his way to greet as many House members as possible and walked halfway across the chamber to greet members of the Supreme Court, the president's cabinet, the military joint chiefs.
That made what happened next even more striking. Obama returned to stand by his seat next to Sen. Edward Kennedy who endorsed Obama today in a widely watched event that reverberated across the political world.
As Clinton approached, Kennedy made sure to make eye contact and indicated he wanted to shake her hand. Clinton leaned towards Kennedy over a row of seats and Kennedy leaned in towards her. They shook hands.
Obama stood icily staring at Clinton during this, then turned his back and stepped a few feet away. Kennedy may've wanted to make peace with Clinton but Obama clearly wanted no part of that.

As president, Obama has said he would meet with the U.S.'s enemies without precondition. But making nice with Clinton apparently is another mattter after the increasingly angry fight the two have waged, with charges and countercharges, for the Democratic presidential nomination.
